Rationale

In recent decades, climate change, globalization and environmental changes have significantly increased the risk of the spread of pathogens of human and veterinary medical interest transmitted by bloodsucking arthropods. This is due to the parallel increase in the ranges of native species and the introduction of new species. Consequently, it is necessary to reorganize the monitoring and surveillance plans for the different species of arthropod-vectors and, even more, to adopt innovative control systems through the use of new technologies. A symposium is therefore proposed that can update the participants in the Congress.
